My name is Dean Myerow. Eleven years ago my family and I wanted to have a dog, but the first dog we had (a Dalmatian) was just not suitable for raising alongside our three small children. Way back then, when AOL was still a dial up service with a hideous connecting noise, we decided to find the best family dog that did not shed and had a good temperament. We found the Goldendoodle breed (which were not so popular back then). With just enough research in hand, we took our only toddler at the time to pick up his new puppy between Allentown and Harrisburg PA at Little Mountain Goldendoodles.
We instantly fell in love with this wonderful pup, that my eldest son named Otis. He was a darling dog who grew very quickly. Otis is an F1B Goldendoodle, meaning that one of his parents was a Goldendoodle bred back to a poodle. We never really asked how big he would get, but after 11 years we decided that we will keep him. Otis is a mix of a Standard poodle and a Goldendoodle. F1B Goldendoodles mixed with a Standard Poodle usually can get to be 70-85 pounds. When you stretch Otis from his hind limbs to the sky he stands nearly 6 feet tall. He is sweet, goofy, sensitive and loves to just lean on willing participants. Playing with kids is his happy place.
I look forward to sharing our adventures and moments with Otis with the world. For now here is a photo of Otis in all his glory:
